Donald N. Habersack, Sr. 11/29/1927 – 3/14/2009

My uncle Donald Habersack passed away last week. Over the last several weeks and months I have had the opportunity to see and hear the verse “Honor they father and mother” lived out in the flesh.

My cousins Sanna Groff and Don Habersack Jr. were loved by their father and they loved him back.  Sanna has been living with them since Christmas 2008 and caring for their daily needs and Don has been there weekly as his job has permitted.

My cousins cared for his needs in a way that I hope I have the courage and patience to when that time comes. There is no fitting word or summary that I can say that could add to what I have witnessed since Christmas by the amazing care that Don Sr. and his wife Wanda have received.

They were a couple still in love to the end. Donald and Wanda are in the far right of this picture taken Christmas 2002 with some of his family. He lived right to the end surrounded by his family.

I will miss him.
