Joshua Calvin Suthard

J. Calvin Suthard was born March 1st, 1841 in Page County, Virginia. While I do not have much information about his early life, he is my great-great-grandfather on my mother's side, and father of Lula Ann Suthard, who would later become Robert Trenton Roudabush's wife and part heiress of Cherry Hill Farm in Stanley, Virginia.
Stories of his later life were that he was very disciplined and "ran a tight ship" around the house. He was a confederate infantryman in the 33rd Virginia Infantry, Company "H" but deserted on two occasions. He passed away December 2nd, 1900 and is buried in the family plot in Graves Chapel Cemetery, Stanley, Virginia. The picture of his burial site is below:
