Did not make the obligatory travel this autumn to important family sites. Maybe time in the spring will allow. I am still looking for details about Habersack families in Germany related to me (Gruendau / Lieblos Germany) and more Suthard information- in particular the Suthards in the Marksville area of Virginia. If you have any info, please contact me at habersack at yahoo dot com. Thanks.

A number of years ago I pulled down all of my genealogy information from Ancestry.com and genealogy.com because I had been able to prove that they had taken the information that I had posted and placed it onto their information that is for sale. There was a nasty comment that someone had made about my Koontz research (which was on my own and not using paid information- and was correct). Rather than respond with a war of words, I took the information off of the web.

Funny to have information come back via other sources too.

Just remember- that if you want to use this site- feel free to do so. I have owned this URL and site since 1997 and much of the genealogical work is older than that. I add to it but the fundamentals have not changed. I ask that you do not steal from me and respect my ownership of the material including the photos. If you want copies that is fine- just please do the right thing and ask first.

Over the years I have contacted a number of folks across the US and Europe with regard to family information, etc. With several changes in computers over the years I have lost track of some of the people in Europe.

This is an open invite to send me an email and drop a line at habersack at yahoo dot com. There are some loose ends in the genealogical area that I would like to tie up on the Habersack and Roudabush families.

I am also looking for information on Louis Landwehr- my step-grandfather (1895-1978). Any photos etc. would be appreciated. He was an early bare knuckles fighter that used the moniker “Young Kid Biff” and had some training under John L. Sullivan when Sullivan was older. He lived in the Baltimore area. Anything is appreciated.

Several weeks ago I was scanning and posting a number of old family photographs. Whenever possible I gave some notation as to history, etc. This is going to be a long process and will take time.

If you are viewing this web and have pictures that pertain to the main subject, please let me know. If they are digital photos and can be included in my scrapbook, I would be delighted to have them. If you are sending a photo that is Habersack / Roudabush / Suthard / Koontz in nature, please annotate it as well as you can. You will be able to reach me via habersack @ yahoo . com. Please place one of the last names noted in the subject along with “family photos” to make certain that my email will not think you are spamming me.

Regards- Mike

If you have seen this page over the years, it has changed but one theme remains- family.

Growing up in Maryland I was able to experience some extended family time which was relished. Some of the items that I recall I’ve been able to document here along with photos that I’m in the process of scanning and placing online of people and places that I have heard of- some of them happening before I was born.

Operation Christmas Child was a family project that we took on to help other families overseas- and it is a great project that still continues.

This season, whatever your beliefs or affiliations- take time to be with your family and make good memories. At the end of it all, that is all that you will have left- the memories. Take the time to make an impact on a young life in a positive way this year.
